Dr. Maria Gracheva
Maria Gracheva was born in Moscow, where she began her academic career at Lomonosov Moscow State University at the Faculty of Physics. After completing her university studies in Russia, she moved to Hungary to continue her research at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. She earned her PhD from the Hevesy György PhD School of Chemistry, focusing on the interdisciplinary application of nuclear methods to plant physiology with a special interest in Mössbauer spectroscopy. Currently, she is a researcher at the HUN-REN Centre for Energy Research in Budapest, where she works within the Nuclear Analysis and Imaging Group at the Budapest Neutron Centre. In recognition of her scientific contribution, she was awarded with the IBAME Young Scientist Award in 2025 and with the Academic Youth Award from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2026.
